For over 30 years, residential care has been the mainstay of the service we’ve offered. During that time, our philosophy has always been to put equal emphasis on “care” and “home”. It’s what our philosophy of care in a caring way means in practice.
On the care side our highly qualified staff will, of course, be there to support you when you need them, day and night. But perhaps it’s the way they’ll care for you without taking over your life that makes us different. We’ll work to your routine; we won’t push you into ours.
The reason we work this way is it’s important to us that you’ll be happy to call Priors Mead home. You’ll find, like your home, you can set your own rules. When you get up or go to bed is entirely your decision. Similarly you can set the times you ask your guests to pop in without any restrictive time slots, including inviting them to join you for lunch.
We’ve also worked hard on the décor to add to the feeling of being at home. The style is smart but lived in, with the essential support aids being subtly blended in.
Finally, if you do decide to join us, we know any move creates upheaval, so we’ll take a little bit of extra care until you find your way. If you’d like to know more about how we’ll help you with moving in read our helpful guide.

With such a personal thing as care, the attitude of staff is obviously critical. That’s why we are rigorous in selecting our team, and never use agency staff. To increase a feeling of involvement are transitioning towards employee ownership. This means it is everyone’s interest to take an empathetic and personal involvement in meeting your exact needs.

For the vast majority of our service, our fee structure is transparent and fully inclusive. There may be the odd minor additional costs for very specific or unusual needs; but in any event you will have the reassurance of knowing your price will be fixed and agreed in advance.
