Why We are Differentliam tracey

Liam Tracey is the CEO of Nightingales and has spent his whole carear proving care to the elderly.

As an organisation, we have clear values and ideals, but what really matters is how they improve our clients’ lives on a day to day basis. It’s mine and my team’s job to make sure this happens.

Below is a comparison of what sets us apart from typical larger care facilities.

Our Boutique Care

  • Small enough for everyone to know each other well, and to feel at home.
  • Low turnover of locally recruited staff who are culturally in tune with our clients, and know them and the area well.
  • Founder-employee owned with unrelenting focus on quality.
  • Sufficient well-motivated staff on duty to meet all clients’ care and social needs.
  • Social activities built around clients’ individual needs, including regularly leaving the home to go shopping, enjoy a drive, themed visits etc.
  • A focus on health and exercise as part of. our everyday routines.
  • Discreet care with external nursing support.

Typical Larger Facilities

  • Thirty-plus clients with widely-varying needs, and little compatibility.
  • High turnover of staff, often recruited from abroad, make communications and building relationships difficult.
  • Typically corporate owned with unrelenting focus on profits.
  • Seldom sufficient staff on duty leading to corners being cut.
  • Care interventnions take priority over social activities which seldom get clients out of the home.
  • Occasional focus on exercise.
  • More institutional approach to care.
